Transparency International Pakistan is advancing efforts to strengthen the Right to Information (RTI) framework in Balochistan, supporting the constitutional right of citizens to access public information. This initiative reflects TI Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to advancing transparency, strengthening civic participation, and supporting accountability mechanisms, particularly in regions where institutional development remains in progress.

 

To further this objective, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 22nd May 2025 between Transparency International Pakistan and the Balochistan Information Commission (BIC).  This strategic partnership aims to enhance institutional capacity, expand public awareness of RTI across the province, and empower citizens to proactively seek information from public authorities, with a particular focus on reaching marginalized groups, including women and rural communities. The MoU was signed in the presence of key stakeholders, including Mr. Imran Khan, Secretary Information, Government of Balochistan, Mr. Kashif Ali, Executive Director, Transparency International Pakistan, Mr. Abdul Shakoor Khan, Information Commissioner, Balochistan Information Commission and Mr. Noor Khaitran, Director General, Directorate of Public Relations, Government of Balochistan
