Workshop on Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013, District Toba Tek Singh, 23 October 2017

A workshop held in district Toba Tek Singh, in collaboration with Social Welfare Society, provided training to 34 citizens including 9 women and Christian minorities on Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013. RTI is an important law which is meant for transparency and social accountability to curb corruption. TI Pakistan’s coordinator informed the participants in detail about the various sections of the law particularly the clauses important in writing a RTI application and its follow up. The role of Public Information Officer and Information Commission had remained the focus of the discussion during the workshop. In the end, the participants wrote sample applications and filled out evaluation form. They were requested to write RTI applications and transfer their learning to other citizens.
