Citizen Report Card Study on Local Government


Bahawalnagar and Pakpattan

From 11th March to 15th March 2019, TI Pakistan in collaboration with SAIBAN conducted a Citizen Report Card study in Bahawalnagar and Pakpattan. The primary objective of the study is to get citizens’ feedback on local government services in these two districts. The tehsils which were covered in the survey: Bahawalnagar, Minchanabad, Haroonabad, Chishtian, Fort Abbass, Arif Wala and Pakpattan. The sample size of the study was 400 which was divided among the five tehsils of Bahawalnagar and two tehsils of Pakpattan. The respondents were the user of these services who were asked 23 questions of multiple choice. These questions were developed after the focus group discussions organized in two districts. The data was collected by well-trained and experienced enumerators while the process was monitored by TI Pakistan and SAIBAN jointly ensuring the validity of the study. SAIBAN used a particular strategy for including the feedback of women, it is therefore, a large number of women could participate in the study. The citizens participated enthusiastically in the survey with the hope that their opinion will matter for the policy makers to improve the services of local government.
