The Role of Pakistani Women for a Corruption Free Society

To encourage Pakistani women, Transparency International Pakistan in collaboration with Sudhar Development Organization organized a seminar in Burewala. The seminar was attended by a large gathering of women belonged to all part of society who actively participated in the event. In the first session, TI Pakistan representative highlighted the role of TI Pakistan in combating corruption. He encouraged women to come forward and highlight corruption for making of a just society. Another speaker highlighted RTI laws and their usage. Ms. Saima Batool pointed out the difficulties women specially in social sector are facing. In the second session, a handicap and courageous woman named Bismilla Begum shared her story of struggle to get her rights while facing corrupt practices. In the last session, a panel discussion was arranged in which participants answered questions regarding corruption. The event was largely covered in the media.
